All these altercations have been so hard on so many military folk. We've lost alot of good lives. I thank the goddess every night that my husband is coming home to me safely...so far anyway. Thanx!

SJH's Angel: How have you been?

Emma: Hi Minda! Long time no see! Thanks for dropping by! Just my opinion, but I think your bf is being a bit unreasonable about his music etc that you wrote about in one of your entries. We all have to make sacrifices if we don't have the money, and like you said, he has a job and is getting paid at the end of the week. No, you are not being 'bitchy', and yes, he is being just a tad bit selfish and unreasonable. Just my humble opinion though. Hugs to you too!
Emma: I'm doing good thanks, just sorting out a-level courses for the next two years - just got a letter from the college I'm going to saying that we don't start until september 12th! woohoo!

SJH's Angel: A Brat too!!! I love it, Army through & through. You have to love it. Born & raised & insane enough to marry. Good luck with all.
SJH's Angel: Nope the name came from initials & the fact hubby calls his me "Angel". Course why he'd do that . Thanks for stopping by, & supporting the Soldiers!I hope your son gets better. As for the rest, you are who you are. Others can accept it & handle it ... or just walk off.
Falling: Thanks for visiting and for the tag! Feel free to come back and visit any time!
Emma: Btw: the image that I used was already transparent (no white bits around it) and I don't know how to make it like that myself - if you need any help, just ask! Good luck!
Emma: P.S. sorry for such a long tag!
Emma: Hey Minda! I uploaded that image at the top of my journal (the one with my name) into Photobucket.com (a free image hosting website) and then went into the Web Journal Service Manager, Edit Text, and then clicked on the tab in the text box that says 'Code Editor'. I then copied the URL for that pic from my Photobucket.com picture album and stuck it in there, and voila! picture! I really hope some, if not all of that made sense - register at Photobucket.com to upload photos and pic
Emma: Hi again Minda! Just dropping by to see how you are! Thanks for the tag back on my journal btw!

I missed you guys

Man things have been a wreck for us here in Louisiana and for me personaly!  The caine stuff is comming along ok.  But for those of us who need government help now we are pushed back behind all evacuees from both caines.  My granparents bought me and my kids a car.  It is so nice, but it has had some work done to it.  Ok alot of work it's over a grand as of now.  BUT I raised cane with the dealership we got it from and they are paying my granparents half of all work they have put into it and are replacing 2 censors I need for free ANd if I have any more problems out of the car they are going to replace it.  Pays to be a bitch sometimes LOL  My father is kicking me and the kids out.  he told me we have 3 months to find a place./  So I am on the look out for a place.  I need a job but am a bout to have knee surgery.  Now you know what i mean about government help when its needed.  UGHS

I am still with the foundation.  Love it more than ever.  Its my passion as you all well know!

It is SO SAD!

As some of you know I live in Louisiana.  Not where the cane hit, but we have the majority of the refugees HERE in my city and it is not a good thing!  Shootings, muggings, cars getting broken into, children getting stolen....  it is horrible!  I do not understand why when someone is helping you , you HURT them!  I am literally scared to death to leave my damn house!

The Soldiers' Angel Foundation has created a fund to help those deplpyed service members who are from the effected areas and their families.  PLEASE help these people out.  You cannot always trust the red cross.  I can tell you that first hand.  We have more of the people of the areas HERE and all our shelters have NO funding or any help except for little water and lesser food.  Please remember we have soldiers over in the sand box who NOW have the added stress of not knowing if they have a home, and some do not even know if their families are ok.

Operation Katrina relief

Please visit that link above, and pass it along as well.

It's amazing

You know I have to say my ex husband amazes me.  He just has NO idea what I am capable of.  For a man who has been with me for 10 years I would think he would know not to piss me off.  He was served with Alimony papers last week...and he was pissed.  My lawyer is pressing the issue of alimony, I did not wanna mess with it.  I knew it would cause a lot of shit not just with him but with his DEAR OL MOMMY.  Yes ladies and gentlmen we are dealing with a titty suckin momma's boy.  It is a wonder the Army had him for the 4 years he was in.  Well anyway, they are all pissed that I am going for alimony.  HM lets do the math shall we?  I am a single mom of 3 kids 7, 6 and 31/2.  Cannot work cause of child care cost, have to live with my father who is an asshole cause I cannot pay rent.  Not to mention he only has to pay 490 a month for child support.  He sold the vehichle I was supposed to get in this damn divorce.  But that is ok....  that is going to come back on him.  I have the children I am the one who should have a dependable car.  PLUS he mentioned hsi retirement from his last job, well GEE....  the wife is owed half of that.  And to top it all OFF his now EX gf called me about 5 months or so ago no and gave me a LOAD of info!  She has him thinking it is ME that is calling her and shit.  LOL  I told her the other day that if we wanna tell the truth she is using ME to get back at his momma for calling her 5 yr old girl a bitch.  And she said YUP.  So I mean I dunno what he thinks.  I do not want to be a bitch in this, I really dont but I want what is best for my children.  And that means more money then I guess I will have to suck it up and go with what my lawyer says.  I can either be seen as the bitch and have more moeny and stuff for my kids or be seen as the weak one and continue to take shit off him to just make him happy.  Well I dont see a reason I should ahve to do that anymore.  I tried that for 10 years and he wanted to go f**k some other woman so I'm gonna F**K him too.

OK now that is outta the way.  WHEW sorry I had to vent that out or it would explode.  My apt at the dr went ok.  He has me schedulaed for a CT.  So we will soon find out why I feel so sick all the time and stay in pain.

We lost a soldier at Ft Polk yesterday, he was 47 yrs old.  They found his body in the afternoon.  Waiting results to find cause of death.  But it was during a training excersize.  There was no wound, no foul play...  so it could have been the heat.

WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Mood: Humble

OMG!  DUdes so much as been going on!!!!

Ok well my almost 7 yr old daughter had to have tests run on her kidneys...  now imagine a 7 yr old being cathed.  being fully awake.  HMM ya it wasnt pretty.  But her test results were NORMAL!  whew.  My ex husband got served papers stating that I am going for Alimony at our final divorce hearing comming up the end of this month.  He isnt a happy camper.  I have been having meetings with my lawyer, and getting the girls ready for school.  Abbie starts tomorrow and Chloe goes for Kinder testing friday.  They are excited.  Abbie got the teacher she didnt want though.  She seemed nice enough, but rest assured if that lady gives my baby trouble she will get it three fold in return LOL

I go tot he dr on the 22nd.  I had Gall Bladder Surgery in Jan, with some complications.  My ex wouldnt let me go when I first had trouble with it.  I was pregnant with my son who is almost 4 yrs old now.  Come to find out my GB was cancerous but just barely.  I am still feeling like I have attacks, so that isnt good.

I MADE Communty Team Leader for Soldier's Angels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I AM SOOOO EXCITED!  I get to do welcome homes for my heros!!!  I will also be doing farewells for when they deploy, which is sad, but at the same time for the soldiers who have no one there to see them off.....  I will be there.  I will be doing fundraisers as well for the org.  So if you wish to donate anything to the org please let me know.  Stuff for packages, backpacks for wounded, blakets, money, anything!  I also have been writing out far to many cards to families with heros we have lost.  I am on a team that supports these families.  we send cards, and then make calls to ask if there is anything we can do, and we provide them with a tree of their choice so that the memory of their soldier may flourish.  This org has given ME so much!  And we hear soldiers falling over themselves thanking us, it amazes me.  They thank us....but our simple pakcages, cards and letters will never be enough to say thank you to them in my opinion.  After all American could not be AMERICA with out our military heros.

Things that make you think, just a little

  • Mood: BOOOOYA!
  • Music: music? ahh the sound of kids playing and fighting

 WHAT SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID

Things that make you think a little:

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
month of January. That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, state the following:

a. FDR led us into World War II.

b.
Germany never attacked us; Japan did.
>From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ...
an  average of 112,500 per year.

c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.
North Korea never attacked us.
>From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 18,334 per year.

d John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.

e.   Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
>From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 5,800 per year.

f.
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us.
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions.

g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush
has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled
al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North
Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining
about how long the war is taking.
But ..
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick

It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!!

Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a
GREAT JOB!
The Military morale is high!

The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
to realize the facts

But Wait there's more!

JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR)
Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13

Some people still don't understand why military personnel
do what they do for a living. This exchange between
Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum
is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive
impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one
man's explanation of why men and women in the armed
services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what
some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
"How can you run for Senate
when you've never held a real job?"

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):
"I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.
My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different
occasions. I was in the space program.  It wasn't my
checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was
not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the
daily cash receipts to the bank."

"I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day...
to a veteran's hospital and look those men ..
with their mangled bodies .. in the eye, and tell
THEM
they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA
and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans
of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...
and you look those kids in the eye and tell them
that their DADS didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in
Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends
buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch
those waving flags

You stand there, and you think about this nation,
and you tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about you?"

For those who don't remember ..
During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney
representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he's a Senator!

If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

It might not be a bad idea to keep this circulating.

My heart ACHES

  • Mood: UGH and ICK
  • Music: the osund of fans to HOPE cool her off, no fever though

Man!!!  Me and my bf are still fighting.  But Maybe Im just beinga bitch, who knows.  he is into this hardcore punk rock music.  FIne, no big deal except he whines about missing it.  Hmm hullo, he has a gazillion CD's of it, magazines and all.  But that isnt good enogh for him, he has to have the moneyt o buy MORE all the time, and go to shows, which we dont have much of here in Louisiana, he did live in NY.  I understand that he misses a part of his life, no prob, but geez its like if he doesnt have it the way he wants it he is gonna die or something.  And here is the real kicker, he has a job now, will ahve a check friday, PLUS he will be geting a large sum of moeny with in the month.  So he will have what he wants SOON.....  but he says...  doesnt take away the fact that I dont have it now.  GRRR  I am more woprried about the US part and his answer to that is....  once I have this part of my life back I will be happy, and there will be no prob with us.  HMMM  so what happens if he should loose his job and not have the money to buy the things he wants?  Do i have to be understanding and patient and let us drag in the dirt untill HE is happy again!?  he says I should be more understanding, and that I should hold him and let him know its all gonna be ok.  Ok I can do that, but like everyday to whine over something is just.  BS!  Am I being "bitchy" as he calls it?  Or is he being childish and selfish like I feel he is, come on guys help me out here.  I just want US to be OK, and he isnt worried about that.  He is worried about this damn music.  UGH

Next....  SO SAAAD!  Loosing soldiers from the org.  Found out another died firghting for our country.  I will have to send a card tot he family and ot his angel.

My ex brought my oldest home today, cause she was thropwing up.  She has reflux and her meds are not working.  She hasnt stopped and its 1AM.  UGH

Man it is FREEEEEZING!

  • Mood: ayyy

Are you kidding me!!!  It is freaking hot!  LIke here today at NOON it was 93 degrees BUT the heat index was 103.  at NOON.  YIKES!!!!!!!!!!  HOT freaking hot I tell ya.  I am going to stop complaining though because my heros have it FAR worse!

I have to get the AC fixed in this stupid car I have to drive since the ex sold the car I was to get from the divorce..  the DOG!  Thats ok...  he is gonna get his.  HA HA HA!  But my kids cannot ride in a car in heat where the index has gotten up to 115 in the past few days.  It is bad enough Larrys mom makes them stay outsiode in this shit.  The heat isn;t going to get any better untill around November then it wont be much of a break.

Soldier's Angels org is on MSNBC today!!!  Our founder is goign to be talking ont here.  Patti.  Way to go gurl!  It is just kick ass!  I am so proud that I can make a small, very small, difference in a soldier's time deployed.  I do it for them, not for me.
